Day 7 – A Song that Reminds You of a Certain Event: "Listen to Her Heart"

“Listen to Her Heart” – Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

The Good Doctor and I

In September 2006, T and I visited our friend Curt down in Texas, and the three of us attended the ACL Festival in Austin. It was an incredible trip, filled with great music, wonderful food, and memories with great friends that will last a lifetime. TPHB was the headliner of the festival’s final night, and while their set wasn’t the best of the fest, in my opinion — that honor was a four-way tie between Centro-Matic, The New Pornographers, The Flaming Lips and The Raconteurs — TP’s set, coming after a storm, had a certain magic to it. “Listen to Her Heart” was their opener. Rock and roll, man. Rock and roll.
